The house overlooks the ever-changing Strait of Georgia on the Pacific Ocean. Massive windows afford the house lots of light and provide views of eagles, hawks and the resident pod of whales. In the summer watch the Alaska-bound cruise ships sail past, as well as working fishing vessels, trawlers and myriad sailboats.
With over 1,300 square feet of living space on the main level, this house boasts a chef's gourmet kitchen with all the modern tools of the trade, a huge dining room with seating for 8, and two comfortable bedrooms, both with pillow-top queen mattresses. One bedroom has an ocean view and the other faces the park-like front of the house. There are two modern bathrooms; one bathroom has a soaker tub and the other a large walk-in shower. A gas fireplace takes the chill off cool nights in minutes. Entertainment may be had via a large screen TV set with DVD player, plus a stereo system with iPod docking station. The house is equipped with wireless Internet access.
There is a lower basement level in the house. Here you will find a media room with TV, VCR, DVD and a comfy futon that may be converted into a double bed for an extra guest. A workshop and washer and dryer are also located on this level.

The quaint village of Lantzville, B.C. is located just north of the City of Nanaimo, on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. From the house it is a short walk to town where you will find a well-stocked convenience store, the Lantzville Village Pub (and a liquor store) and a number of interesting shops, plus The Black Dog Café, which is the scene of some lively local entertainment on a weekly basis.
There is also a gas station and post office, plus a number of professional offices. A short drive away is the north end of Nanaimo where you will find a major shopping mall (Woodgrove Mall), plus grocery stores, cinemas, restaurants and myriad other shops and stores.
Lantzville has lots of interesting things to do and to see. There is a park only a short walk away with hiking trails and a children's play area. Runners will enjoy the nearby trails, and cyclists can gain access to Nanaimo's Parkway Trail only a few kilometers away. Of course, being so close to Nanaimo it affords one access to all the amenities of a larger hub, as well as easy access to the BC Ferry Terminals at Departure Bay and Duke Point, plus the airport in Nanaimo and seaplane service via Habour Air, Seair Seaplanes and Westcoast Air. From downtown Vancouver or Vancouver's International Airport you are only 20 minutes from Nanaimo.
The TransCanada Highway (Highway # 1) runs directly through Nanaimo and there are two major exits off the highway into Lantzville. From Lantzville you may venture north to Mount Washington, Courtney, Comox, or west to Tofino or south to the Cowichan Valley and Victoria.
